This 15-inch acrylic shelf almost disappears on the wall, so whatever you place on it seems to float. It is a popular way to display picture books face out in a child's room, so little readers can see the covers and choose their own story. It also works well for collectibles, small plants, framed photos and perfume bottles. Its clear finish works with any wall color or wallpaper.
Choose fully transparent for an invisible look, or fluorescent orange or green for a bright, playful accent that glows at the edges when light hits it. The slim ledge design has a raised lip at the front that helps keep books and items from sliding off. Install several in a row to build a display wall in a nursery, playroom, office or hallway. Spacing them evenly creates a neat, gallery-like feature that is easy to update.
Mount the shelf into wall studs or with anchors suited to your wall, and keep loads light. Acrylic is easy to wipe clean with a soft damp cloth; avoid rough sponges that could scratch it. When used in a child's room, fix it securely and place it at a height that suits the child, and have an adult supervise young children around wall-mounted items.
